Macworld 2011 – If you looked hard enough, there were some cool things!

Without Apple and Steve Jobs (or his clone) in attendance at this year’s Macworld held at the Moscone Center in San Francisco this last week, the consensus from everyone I spoke to who attended was the same.  It was leaner,  more compact in a smaller venue and lacking the soul and spirit that once existed with Jobs as the headliner.  Perhaps it was a psychological strategy to pack a smaller crowd into a smaller Moscone West to give it a feel of full. But it really wasn’t.   Some reported that you could walk the show in one morning.

I ‘virtually’ attended the show, reading press releases from the companies who were hawking their applications or accessories ~ if you could even get close to look at one.   So, from a distance and from the comforts of my own home office armed with a myriad of press releases and Google ~ here are some of the things that I found interesting, and even perhaps something I might want to own someday.

Zaggmate fro Zagg.com I might want this one!

This one from Zagg is actually cool as my near future goal is to get me an external keyboard to go with my iPad.   Zagg also has other cool screen protectors for most Apple products.  The Zagg Skins are fun products.

Zagg sparq Portable Power

My favorite is this device here called Zagg sparq which is a charger AND  portable juice for your Mac gadgetry.   I love it when anything has dual purposes.   Here are a few more products that I found; useful – and strange.

I can imagine this one in the kitchen when I purchase iCookbook application!

For diehards who need to be attached to their iPads!

This one (above)  was in my ‘strange’ invention category.  I’ve heard about attachment parenting, but I don’t know if I want to wear my accessories.  Or for that matter, pay the price for it.  Nice try, though.  I imagine there are diehards out there.  If so, then this is for you!

As far as applications are concerned, I found one that frequent travelers could really use.   Flight Track Pro gives you everything you need to know about your flight and even navigate you through your airport.   HERE’s a review about it!

And ~ oh yeah ~ if you are stuck in a time warp and don’t know about Angry Birds yet..they’re still the hottest game in iTown ~ except they really need to take that darn boomerang bird out.

Happy iSunday to all!
