Napa Valley’s Decadently Sinful Choice – Anette’s Chocolates

With the wonderful owner Anette Madsen

Out and About on Assignment: Kaye Cloutman

Anette’s Chocolate Factory is a family run business, and has been a local institution for the past nineteen years.  Anette is who you see when you walk into their retail shop, and her brother Brent’s name appears on an amazing array of dessert toppings, chocolate bars and brittles.  A Master Chocolatier since 1993, Brent took the center of the shop’s famous wine truffles and converted them into such bottled delights as Chocolate Port Wine Sauce, Chocolate Raspberry Liqueur Sauce and Chocolate Cabernet Wine Sauce.

Their Triple Nut Kentucky Bourbon Brittle won the 2009 sofi™ Gold, Outstanding Snack Food, in the N.A.S.F.T. Product Awards Competition.  During the 2008 New York Fancy Food Show, Brent’s Micro Brew Beer Brittle won sofi™ Silver, Outstanding Confection.  The previous year, their Micro Brew FIREY Beer Brittle won the 2007 sofi™ Gold, Outstanding Snack Food.  Most recently, the FIREY Beer Brittle won the Fiery Food Challenge, and received the 2010 Golden Chili Award in the snack category.

Despite the recent innovations, the business has its roots firmly planted in the past.  Its 1321 First Street location was home for many years to Partrick’s Candy Store.  Today, many years later, if you want to enjoy an ice cream cone, fountain drink or gourmet coffee while you watch amazing chocolate confections being made by hand,  Anette’s is the place to go.

Anette’s Chocolate Factory is located at 1321 First Street, Napa, California and The Oxbow Public Marketplace at 600 First Street, Napa, California.

A Silver Finalist of the 2008 N.A.S.F.T. sofi™ Awards Competition - Brent's Micro Brew Beer Brittle
