Out and About on Assignment:  Lulu del Rosario with Melissa Baltazar

Yakami Orchards is one of Japan’s most respected producers of the Yuzu fruit.  Yuzu is a citrus fruit similar to a mandarin but with a more uneven texture.  It was my show partner, Melissa ~ a food connoisseur, who turned me on to the fruit.  I’ve seen the marmalade in oriental stores and normally, they’re added to tea to give it a distinct citrus flavor.  Great hot, and when you need a major dose of Vitamin C.

But as a delicious marmalade ~ and even with cheese?  Who would’ve thunk!  You know, to tell you honestly ~ I feel like such a gourmet after this show!

We spent quite some time here!  All these delicious new flavors to try!  Yakami Orchard’s.  By far my favorite was the marmalade.  Melissa, being the connoisseur and excited about the jar we were given, was the lucky one who took it to her pantry.  I’m going to find it and make it part of mine.  It’s great with your morning toast, or in your freshly brewed hot tea.   It’s my favorite of the marmalades we tasted.  I’m telling you ~ that yuzu fruit.  It’s something else!

You can find products from Yakami Orchard online.  I know they have some at Market Hall and other various online retailers.   Simply the best!
