My baby grands ( 3 1/2yo and 1 1/2yo) are quite adept and are gadget geeks at their young and tender age.  Very early in life, both could maneuver the iPhone and get to their game of choice – all age appropriate, of course.  Now the 3yo can already write and sound out letters; he’ll be reading soon.  With applications such as this new one featured from Leapfrog, both will be able to master their skills!  BTW, both have their own iPad and iTouch.  I used to call it their digital pacifier!  At least it will safe orthodontic fees!!! – lulu
