New Olay Professional Pro-X Clear Helped Me Say Goodbye to Red

Oct 4th, 2011 | By | Category: Beauté, Fashion, Featured, Women

Most of the time, red is good.  In fact, I love red ~ it’s one of my favorite colors.  Red makes you stand out.   Red sometimes makes heads turn, it’s easily recognizable.   Sometimes, though, I have a slightly little problem with red.  Especially when it’s in my face and there’s a medical term associated with it.  Like rosacea which I had previously mentioned here.

As a photographer, with this kind of ‘redness’, I prefer  to stay behind the camera. So when BlogHer put the call out for reviewers for the Olay Professional Pro-X Clear Line, I answered the call.  I was pleased to learn I had been chosen to review the product which couldn’t have come at a more opportune time.  The busy schedule we held was beginning to add a little strain to what my skin preferred to handle (it does not like stress at all).   Armed with new product to test with confidence and only because I have been successful with some of Olay’s other products, I was off to give this product an honest try. I did not have to deal with acne in my teen years, or even in my 30′s.  Acne presented its annoying self to me in my early 40s and was  primarily due to a stressful work life.  Suddenly, I was prone to break outs and acne and needed the intervention of a dermatologist; medication in pill form and topical treatments.   I knew it was stress related because I was breakout free during vacations.   As I was about to learn, adult skin is not the same as young skin so most of the treatments I thought would work for the young  (as in regular over the counter acne products geared for teenage skin) never worked for me.  And it was frustrating. So I babied my skin and went the prevention route as much as I could.   Some products were more difficult than others as they would tend to be over-drying and made me feel worse.   A little OCD led to ensuring I always had clean pillow cases and I would always have hand sanitizers with me. So yes, I was ready to give the Olay Professional Pro-X Clear Linea good try.  And I was diligent about it.

Olay Professional Pro-X Clear Line

Using the product was quite easy as I incorporated the routine with my nightly shower.  The products are numbered in the sequence in which they’re supposed to be use.   That’s a good thing for those with not so perfect eyesight like me.  I started with a good cleansing with the Olay Professional Pro-X Pore Clarifying Cleaner, ~ a wash off salicylic acid acne treatment that reduces oil and removes dead skin to help prevent clogged pores.   The 2nd step was  Olay Professional Pro-X Clear Skin Clearing Treatment  which was a leave in treatment designed to bring the acne under control and help prevent future breakouts.  The 3rd and final step to the regiment was the application of Olay Professional Pro-X Clear Complexion , a sheer moisturizer that hydrates to help fade the look of spots and redness.

Before and After

I must say that the cleansing lotion felt good to the skin.  I noticed a little redness after the 2nd day but I pursued the treatment.  The redness subsided beginning the 5th day at which time I began to slowly see the benefits of the regimen.  I’ve been using the product for two weeks now and have not had any breakouts.   My skin does not feel dry, thanks to the 3rd step, a moisturizing treatment.  On top of this, I use a sunscreen and have been reminding myself to drink at least 6-8 glasses of water (sometimes, coconut water) to stay hydrated. The Olay Professional Pro-X Clear Line  will benefit many who have sensitive skin like me.   After many years of trying to figure it out, I’m glad that I’ve found a wonderful product with clinically proven technology that works for me.  And who would have known that it would be from one of my preferred skin care line creators. I didn’t need the dermatologist for this one! The biggest changes I’ve noticed in my skin are “patches” where the skin is dry rather than rosy and moisturized-looking.  I do use day and night moisturizer, but they seem to cover up the problem for a bit and no more.  Definitely would love to try this regimen.  Thanks for the chance to win!

it’s an excellent product, I’ve recommended it to my friends. I like Olay’s products in general.  Definitely stay away from the very expensive stuff at the department stores :)

I have the same problem.  This product’s 3rd step will help that.  Also don’t forget to drink a lot of water.  I have to keep reminding myself to do so.

I noticed my skin has a lot more age spots as I grow older.  And pores are more noticeable especially when I didn’t rest well.

thanks for your reply.  Don’t give up on it. And hopefully you can try to get a little more rest if you can.  We have to remember to take some time for ourselves.  I don’t always do..but I try to remind myself that I deserve it :)

Your pictures are wonderful! I can really see the difference.  My biggest problem is constant dryness which gets even worse in the winter.

Oh man, my skin has been so finnicky now as I’m in my late 20s! It just started a few months ago, and it’s no fun. =( I think I really should try this product, because I clearly need to do something.

My skin seems to know two things as I get older. Either acne or dry….and nowhere in the middle. I think it’s dependent on the time of year and the elements.
