Spotlight on Cool: BrainFry Concepts, A Small Business with Big Ideas Thinking In and Outside the Box
Oct 10th, 2011 | By Lulu del Rosario | Category: FeaturedMariana and Peter couldn’t believe what they saw when they received their ‘Message in a Bottle.’
Originally, their request for a Save the Date for their wedding had started out simply enough: a map showing trips of their US based friends and family to the site for their wedding to be held in Ecuador. What they received, instead, was a beautifully ornate and unique message within a bottle, placed in a box made to look like an old fashioned steamer trunk. So how did this come about? Once the map was created, BrainFry Concepts‘ co-owner, Gemma Ronquillo wanted to do the design justice by framing it in something more than just an envelope. She felt the ‘castaway’ family and friends who were being told about the event would love to have a bottle containing the not-so-secret event wash up in their mailbox.
But, rather than stop at just the map within the bottle, she felt compelled to have these same people feel the need to pack their bags by surrounding the bottle in a handmade, make shift steamer trunk. Hand stitched ribbon and buckles combined with a little extra attention to detail finish off the look, making the recipient feel like they are receiving a most truly heartfelt invitation to a far away destination.
Opening the box, uncorking the bottle, and unrolling Mariana and Peter’s message was a truly awe inspiring way to be reminded of their dedication to their special union.
