Cookies & Corks ~ A Great New Way to Spice Up Your Event

We’ve all heard of wine pairings which involve chocolates or cheese ~ and food, for that matter.  At the recently concluded 2012 Winter Fancy Food Show held at the Moscone Center, we were pleased to have discovered a fun alternative to the norm.   Meet Cookies &  Corks ~ fun, flirty and fabulous sweet and savory cookies that pair well with a wine of your own choosing.

The fad of pairing wine with food just got sweeter

Leah Kuo and Laura Englander, the due behind Cookies & Corks were always searching for ways to showcase the possibilities of their cookies.  Not too ong ago, at their local wine shop, they suggested pairing wine with cookies as a way to inject some fun into the typical wine tasting.  They took the challenge and began perfecting daring flavor combinations uniquely tailored to pair with wine varietals.  Each cookie is baked with decadent ingredients such as apricot, espresso, sage, dark chocolate, lemon and sea salt to delight the palate.

Changing the face of the entertaining game

We sampled  their cookies along with some wine at their booth.  The Zesty Lemon paired well with Sauvignon Blanc and Merlot; the white Cheddar Rosemary and Sea Salt Chocolate Oatmeal delicious with a Cabernet Sauvignon. The combinations are endless;  the easy to use pairing guide is the perfect starting point.

Cookies & Corks is the wow factor that hostesses will love to make their party stylish, flirty and special.  They place the emphasis back on good food, good conversation and good fun.

We attended the show looking for different food ideas this year and this was definitely one of our fun (and delicious) finds!   Cheers!
