Why I Love My Slow Cooker Again. Blame Wine Country Kitchens For That!

When the kids were growing up and I had a 8am – 6pm job,  my saving grace many many times  was my slow cooker.   I rotated between that and a pressure cooker to keep my sanity.   Back then, dinner consisted of a meat dish, some kind of fish and vegetables. And rice.  Always

Getting Ready for the 2012 Winter Fancy Food Show

Last year, we spent three full days at the 2011 Winter Fancy Food show which was held at the Moscone Center in San Francisco.  It was my first year at the show but not my first convention.  I knew a few good things about these events:  wear comfortable shoes and be prepared to walk and

KRAVE Jerky – So Tender It’s Giving Jerky a Gourmet Makeover

A couple of weeks ago, I was asked if I was interested in tasting a new brand of jerky that was soon to be available in my grocery store. My reply was a quick and easy yes; my husband loves to munch on jerky when he is nervously watching a game, or even sometimes on his drive home from work. We’d pretty much checked out all the regularly available known brands (the usual suspects) in the grocery stores and have ruled out all but one familiar brand that did not cause what we have come to refer to as ‘jaw fatigue’.

YogaEarth’s Coconut Water Purity ~ An On-The-Go Refreshing and Delicious Discovery

My family has been a convert and big fan of coconut water ever since  I discovered a few really good brands at the Winter Fancy Food Show in San Francisco earlier this year.   All the brands we peruse are either in bottles or cans ~ some with pulp, some sweeter than others.  I spent

They say you are what you eat.   Care to join the Cwazy Cacao Cocoa Club?  Is there a difference?  Where does chocolate come from?  We’ve featured a lot of the divine stuff on our site, but it’s kind of cool to learn how our indulgent treat is made. This is a cacao bean pod from

Looking for the Next Top Chef – For Doggies

This blog’s  for the dogs!  I almost missed this on our news feed. It’s a good thing I kept on going as I know a picky canine that could use something other than chicken and rice or lamb and rice. I’ve had our pup for two years now and there’s always a debate in our
